Bremstrommeln - 2F93331 - 293 - Peitz EGB 18

  • Dear All (sorry only in English).

I am searching a drum brake (Bremstrommeln) for my trailer the same one I actually have or a replacement.
The one is installed in an axe made by Peitz in 93' X-EGB 18(?)
The broken one has written two codes 2F93331 and 293 number
The one was using bearings X32007 from Timken.

If someone can help guiding me to the right product, I would appretiate, I am located in South America and will probably need to buy first in Germany and then send it by post.

I measured the one that might be + - 1/2 mm error on measurements:

    A = 250 mm (inside diameter)
D = 270mm (outside diameter with dust shield
H= 260 mm (outside diameter without dust shield )
G= 150 mm (diameter front part)
J= 140mm (inside diameter front part)
E= 60mm (hole for bearings and axis)
F= 50mm (brake flat surface track width)
B= 80mm (aprox) (Deep of the drum
I= 5mm (dust shield separation from the end)

    Five bolts
    distance each from center 67mm

I also measured the axe distance 115 mm from the plate. and diameter of 34mm

  • Hello

the problem is that it Peitz no longer exists, the factory was closed over 30 years ago

Peitz has built no brakes of this size

in recent years they have built various other brakes, partially Knott, partially BPW and sometimes Nieper

but all of these have brakes in size 250x40 not in 250x50

Please re-measure the brake pads, not the drum

or you have to look at the back of the Plate after a number of brake

for example RASK2504 or you make pictures of the numbers

    best regards

    Mani

  • Many thanks for the tip ! I will measure the pads, it is possible that their width to be smaller and write it back

  • Dear all
I measured the break pads and guess what , they are 40mm width.. so I guess 250 x 40 should be ok, now the question is to fit my Peitz axe and bearings of 32007X (Timken).
Any links where to buy the drum? I would have to buy two to ensure it breaks correct? or with one would be ok?
    Thanks

  • OK Many thanks for all the info, the drum mentioned at the link may be the one:
here I took some axe measurements just to make sure it will work:

    Axe end lenght 113 mm
First section of the axe with ave diameter of 34.98mm 70mm
Middle section of the axe with ave diameter of 24.80mm from 71mm to 90 mm
Threaded section of the axe with ave diameter of 24.78mm from 91mm to 113mm

Not now it has two bearings at the end to provisory hold the actual brake drum that is broken...
Hope these pictures helps to be 100% accurate.

    Many thanks
    Matias

  • Dear All
finally I managed to clean the back of the plaque.
and almost hidden behind the torsion arm, I found this image that probably solve all the question:
    imagebrand1.jpg

So I guess the brakes are Knott and link you provided me is ok? right?
    http://www.anhaenger-fahrzeugt…5-loch-s-2504-7-rask.html

Are there many Torsion arms as well or there will be a single one that fits? This would be a long piece right?
thanks a lot for the help.
